In this article, I’ll share some helpful tools for web developers, especially if you're just starting out, want to boost your productivity, or save time. Let's dive in!
Note - I won’t be covering popular tools that you may already know. Instead, I’ll focus on lesser-known tools that can still be incredibly useful for developers and designers.
Code Beautify
Code Beautify offers a wide range of tools that can help improve your productivity and save time. If you’ve written a lot of code and need to test and improve it, this platform is a great choice. It provides features like HTML beautification and minification, along with useful tools for CSS and more.
The platform's two main offerings are converters and generators, such as JSON/HTML/CSS beautifiers, HTML to JSX converters, and random generators. These tools are free and can be used daily to speed up your workflow.
DirtyMarkup
DirtyMarkup helps clean up your HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code. With its simple and minimalistic design, it’s easy to use. If you're looking to make your code cleaner and more organized, this tool is a must-have.
Loading.io
If you need pre-loaders for your project, Loading.io is a great option. As a web developer, you’ll often need pre-loaders to indicate that something is loading in the background. This improves the user experience by letting users know to wait.
Loading.io offers both free and paid animated pre-loaders with customizable styles. Even the free options are of high quality.
Lottie Files
If you're planning to add animations to your website, Lottie Files is a game-changer. This platform allows you to use animated versions of everyday elements on your site. For example, you can find high-quality animated pre-loaders, scrolling indicators, and more.
Animating graphics or vectors can be time-consuming, but Lottie Files simplifies the process, helping you add stunning animations quickly.
Animate.css
Animate.css is an awesome tool for adding animations to your website. Whether you want to animate text, images, or vectors, this tool makes it easy. Installation is simple, and there are many animation options to choose from.
Using Animate.css, you can quickly enhance your website’s user experience with minimal effort.
What Font (Font finder tool)
If you’re converting a web design into code but don’t know the font used, no worries—there are several tools online to help you identify the font. One tool I highly recommend is WhatFont. It’s fantastic for pinpointing the fonts used in any design.
To use it, simply visit their website and upload a screenshot of the design with the font you want to identify. Make sure the screenshot is high-quality for the best results. Once uploaded, you'll be able to crop the section where the font appears.
In just a few seconds, WhatFont will provide you with a list of similar font families, making it easy to determine the exact font or a close match. And that's it—quick and easy!
Content Editors
GrapesJS
GrapesJS is an open-source, drag-and-drop web builder that allows you to create HTML and CSS code without writing it manually. It’s ideal for creating websites or blog content on platforms other than WordPress. It works with any framework, including React, Vue, and Angular.
React Page
React Page is a powerful WYSIWYG content editor for React. It allows developers and content editors to create custom components for their site easily. Also you can consider it for writing blog posts for your site. You can add text, images, code snippets, and more.
While there are other rich text editors like TinyMCE and Froala, React Page stands out by allowing component-based layouts for advanced content creation.
